Shiv Sena leader Harish Singla has been arrested in connection with the clashes that broke out in Patiala today during a march against Khalistan. Clashes take place outside the Kali Mata temple as members of the outfit calling themselves Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) begin a ‘Khalistan Murdabad March’.
The arrest was made after a high-level meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Mr Mann called the incident unfortunate and stated his government would not let anyone cause disturbance in the state.
“Khalistan Murdabad March” is organized by “Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray)” leader Harish Singla. The march began at Arya Samaj Chowk with Sena activists holding up the slogan “Khalistan Murdabad”.
Mr Singla said Gurpatwant Pannun of Sikhism for Justice has declared April 29 as “the founding day of Khalistan”. “In response to them, Sena has also decided to take out the ‘Khalistan Murdabad March’ on April 29,” he said.
