‘Daily Show’s’ D.L. Hughley Busts Hannity for Freudian Slip on Police Brutality
Takes on Fox News in his final episode as guest of Daily program This week, comedian DL Hughley told viewers, “You have to hear the latest thing they’re saying about police shooting Black people.”
He was talking about a recent segment in which Sean Hannity argued that police officers couldn’t be racist because white people were also shot dead by police. “There is no systemic racism in policing,” Hannity argues. “It does not exist.”
Hannity went on to say that “good cops” make up the “overwhelming majority” of police officers before adding, “And there is a small majority of the bad police.”
“He already said it!” Hughley replied. “’Most bad cops.’ Now that’s a Freudian slip for your ass!
Hughley said it shouldn’t be “surprised” that police kill more whites than blacks “because there are more of them.” He joked, “It’s like more whites die in NASCAR races than Blacks, of course!”
“But Sean is right, the police also need to stop killing white people,” he continued. “Welcome to the struggle, my brother!”
