Dating app usage increased by nearly 20% in January
The app’s global usage reflects a similar trend. From January 2019 to January 2022, Bumble and Hinge’s monthly active users are a fraction of that of Tinder, however, their user base has grown over time.
In January 2019, Bumble’s MAU was around 13% compared to Tinder while Hinge’s was around 3%. In three years, Bumble usage increased by 13 points, reaching over a quarter of Tinder by January 2022, and Hinge usage increased by 9 points to 12%.
Bumble and Hinge have seen their audiences skyrocket over the past three years. In January 2022, Hinge saw its MAU hit more than four times its January 2019, while Bumble saw its MAU increase by 96% while comparing the two time periods.
On the other hand, Tinder usage has remained relatively stable over the same time period – not surprising since its audience is already relatively large and the app remains the market leader.
