David Brown Mini Remastered Marshall Edition Enhanced
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the British audio brand Marshall Amplification and the company is celebrating with a special edition of another British icon with the help of David Brown Automotive. The result was a limited run of David Brown’s Mini Remastered Marshall version, packed with equipment and design reference to the audio company.
Mini Remastered is painted completely black, even most of the decorative details are in chrome. Gold accents such as stripes, grille and wheel rims complete the Marshall look. The grille itself is also made to look like the one on the Marshall speakers.
The interior elevates Marshall’s influence to 11. Even more gold accents appear from the stitching to the knurled knobs and handles. The door panels have fabric sections designed to fit the Marshall amplifier speaker housings. The sound system has a Pioneer head unit, but all speakers are Marshall, including the lower ones with the signature white logo. Inside the glove box is a pair of wireless Marshall earphones atop wireless charging. And to end it all is a pedal with a slide (clutch), pause (brake) and the play icon (gas).
The trunk is the highlight of the car. It houses a Marshall guitar amp with its own power supply so you can rock it wherever you park. A Marshall Bluetooth speaker is also packed in the back, in case you need tunes somewhere else.
Only 60 Marshall Editions will be built. All come with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder making 83 horsepower and 98 pound-feet of torque. The only transmission is a five-speed manual. Both left and right drive models are available. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but a portion of the sales will go to a British charity called Music Meetings Trust that has provided funding for concert venues during the pandemic. David Brown Automotive is currently taking pre-orders and delivery is expected later this year.
