Destiny 2 previews key weapon buffs for mid-season update

Bungie has released an in-depth preview of Upcoming mid-season weapon update because destiny 2, which features substantial support for several primary weapons. Exotic SMG Tarrabah and Legendary Ikelos SMG will have PvP nerfs in this update, with some other tweaks and balances across the cards.

The main focus of this weapon balance pass is on strengthening the sometimes lackluster primary weapon class, especially as the PvE content becomes more challenging. Auto Rifles, Pulse Rifles, Hand Cannons, Sidearms, and Scout Rifles will all receive buffs in the update. Bungie explains that SMGs and Bows were used as “benchmarks” for these spells, with the aim of raising other weapons to the same level of effectiveness.

Auto Rifles will take 25% damage against enemies with red and orange bars in PvE, Pulse Rifles, Hand Cannons and Secondary Weapons will get 20%, while Reconnaissance Rifles get ten%. The weapon team has said that you’ll be more likely to shoot enemies with the red bar in Hero and Legendary content. In a Twitter comment, Bungie clarified that the above offers also apply to Exotic weapons and will add up to a 40% damage increase on enemies with red bars.

Bungie also looked at the weapons that currently dominate the PvP meta, to balance out the exceptions. First in sight is the Ikelos SMG, which turns out to have some legacy custom tweaks that greatly reduce its recoil. This effect has now been removed, making Ikelos’ recoil more consistent with other SMGs.

Tarrabah is also being nerfed, with Bungie reducing the amount of Rampage Beast’s mana generated from taking damage from 3% to 1%, as well as reducing zoom from 16 to 15.

The weapon team also took a look at the changes in line with the launch of Season 21, including damage reduction for aggressive frame SMGs, a major revision to hip firing nets, a 10% increase in damage for Sniper Rifles in PvE and more individual Exotic weapon buffs.
