Destiny 2’s solar power will unlock after 20 million nightmares
Fate 2: Season of the Haunted has arrived with a full revision of the Sun subclass, although not every element of this Guardian skill tree has been unlocked. This is by design, as Bungie explained that players will be able to unlock additional pieces for Solar 3.0 by completing a number of Place of nightmaresThis season’s new public event.
The key to completing this activity will be teamwork, as Bungie adds that those who participate in the full activity will earn double progress points towards the community goal. For example, a Guardian who completes a Nightmare Control run counts as one completion point, but a team of three will count as six. Bungie explained in it weekly blog post that after the Destiny 2 community reaches 20 million Nightmare Containment completions, the following shards will be unlocked:
- Ember of Empyrean
- Ember of Char
- Ember of Ashes
- Ember of Wonder
While those four shards are locked, Bungie notes that some veteran players have unlocked Ember of Ashes and Ember of Wonder because they were previously integrated into the Solar subclass.
Some players were also unable to get the shards that should have been unlocked for everyone at the beginning of Season of the Haunted, namely Ember of Erup and Ember of Searing. While Bungie is working on fixing this situation, anyone who has unlocked the Sun Shards early won’t have to worry about them being removed from their Guardian builds.
