Detailed Kia Seltos 2023 update, coming to Australia this year

2023 Kia Seltos has been detailed in Korea before launching in Australia in Q4 2022.

Update Seltosat least in Korea, will offer a new eight-speed automatic transmission with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine manufacturing 147kW energy at 6000 rpm and 265Nm torque from 1600 to 4500 rpm.

Currently, the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine produces 130kW at 6000rpm and 265Nm between 1500 and 4500rpm and is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The base engine is a 110kW/180Nm naturally aspirated 2.0 liter 4-cylinder paired with a continuously variable transmission.

Kia has also confirmed a bunch of new features for the Seltos, though it’s unclear how many of these will come to Australia.

This is the latest product of Hyundai Motor Group equipped with the Intelligent Remote Intelligent Parking Assist System, which allows you to move the vehicle forward and backward with the key.

A surround-view camera is available, as well as smart speed limiter and reverse AEB support.

New convenience features include driver seat memory, power tailgate, USB-C socket in the cabin, and digital key assist.

As previously revealed, the updated interior features a wrap-around display that wraps around the 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen and the available 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, giving the Seltos one look similar to that of the new version Sport.

Like its larger sibling, there’s also a rotary shifter.

Kia says it also glues soundproof glass to the windshield to improve cabin quietness.

As is expected of the mid-life update, there are also new wheel designs and new colors, including a new blue and a new green.

Interior colors include black, caramel and ‘midnight blue’.

The latter is exclusive to the Gravity, a top-spec model that Kia says is “focused on dark and luxurious design elements”.

There’s a unique grille, front and rear sliding panels, headlight trim, 18-inch alloy wheels painted in black, and exterior mirrors.

The updated Seltos is partially longer (20mm) at 4390mm, with an identical 1800mm width.

External changes across the range include a revised grille and bumper, as well as new LED daytime running lights.

The updates make a more substantial comeback, where there are redesigned, more vertically oriented tail lights connected by a full-width light bar.

There’s also a revised bumper with more discreet exhaust outlets, while the rear fog lights appear to have been moved further down.

Kia Australia previously confirmed The 2023 Seltos will have blind-spot assist as standard in the lower-spec S and Sport versions.

However, buyers will lose the ability to add the full range of safety features as part of the optional Safety Pack.

The current Seltos S and Sport don’t have blind-spot assist, rear cross-traffic and lane-following assist, along with an advanced automatic emergency braking system with cyclist detection offered on the models. Sport Plus and GT-Line.

The Safety Package now on offer brings AEB cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, electric parking brake, power-folding rearview mirror and cross-traffic assist.

The simpler scope is a move to make it easier for dealers and stock controllers as the world grapples with shipping delays, semiconductor shortages and COVID-related outages.

Kia also points to the fact that the Seltos range has a five-star ANCAP rating regardless of which AEB system is fitted as a reason to remove the option.

Along with the tamper safety kit, the 2023 Seltos lineup is likely to get rear vents across the entire range, and base models will ride on alloy wheels instead of the steel one fitted to the model. current car.

It will also follow the new Niro in receiving the optional Kia Connect.

As a combination of both direct service and smartphone app, Kia Connect uses an integrated modem and Optus SIM. Kia will also provide over-the-air updates.

Using the smartphone app, you will be able to lock/unlock and start the vehicle remotely, as well as adjust the climate control, seat heating and ventilation, check the vehicle’s condition and monitor location of the vehicle.

Seltos . Update won’t bring the merge optionas previously rumored.

Kia Australia confirmed Niro will instead serve customers looking for a compact hybrid SUV.
