Did Robert Griffin III subtweet Michael Vick more than Lamar Jackson?
I cannot confirm that Robert Griffin III shot Michael Vick Saturday on Twitter. But the fact that Griffin tweeted a paraphrased version of what Vick said on the Fox NFL Kickoff, isn’t too far-fetched to believe that those comments don’t sit well with RGIII.
On the broadcast, Vick said Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson should “Put a double on it and make it go.” Hours later, Griffin tweeted that those who believe Jackson just needed to wear a brace and go out on the field “need to be sober.”
Griffin did not tag Vick, the NFL on Fox, or even quote the video tweet. However, he sent that tweet on Saturday and said of a double, it’s more likely he’s annoyed with Vick than with what Sammy Watkins said on Wednesday, or any other criticism. another for Jackson last week.
While Vick’s comments were insensitive, what Watkins said was ludicrous, suggest arrive by the Washington Post Adam Kilgore that Raven put Jackson on the field because only turn, and don’t let him run. Great solution, because of course no one weighing more than 250 pounds would jump at his leg while he is trying to throw.

Vick wasn’t even the only person on the Fox set on Saturday who had some issues with Jackson. Sean Payton went first, and he said that he has heard there are some “grumblings” in Baltimore about how long Jackson’s recovery is taking. Payton also offered up the hot take that Jackson will continue from Raven during the season. Charles Woodson said, “I don’t know if I’ll have the guts to sit out.”
Both Woodson and Payton objected to Vick for actually saying that Jackson should play on that sprained MCL. Also, although Jackson detailed his knee problem, it was Raven who was the one paralyze him for their Sunday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The media beef we deserve
Vick shouldn’t have said that an injured player should play.
But Griffin’s tweet was a bit performant, especially as it countered what Vick said, but didn’t mention him. Let more people pursue each other in sports media.
Studios performances can also be more fun when people in suits behind desks don’t get along. The Ignore Bayless and Shannon Sharpe’s tension both exciting and awkward in recent weeks, but Bayless has been mingling with everyone at the debate table for decades. Being annoyed with him is like being angry about the sun in the summer.
It would have been nice to have some hot sports media coverage, but unfortunately, Griffin didn’t focus on it. He sent a social media post with pretty strong language, but didn’t address it.
RGIII vs Vick can be great. Maybe they can solve it with a 40-yard run like in episode of Atlanta when Vick is Street racing. Unfortunately, we will probably never know what could have been.
