Did you know your body feeds itself every day? Learn about the autophagy diet and its many health benefits
It’s important to remember that you don’t have to stay in ketosis, fast, or exercise intensely all the time to get the benefits of autophagy. Just a few hours here and there can help sometimes, too.
In case you choose to fast, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
During extended fasting, make sure you don’t deprive your body of key electrolytes like sodium, magnesium, calcium, and potassium. These are essential to staying awake and healthy. If you do not eat, then taking a supplement (ask your doctor for all to take and how much) is necessary, otherwise you may feel dizzy and have a headache.
The safest way to start fast autophagy is to start small, especially if you’ve never fasted before.
Also, in general, fasting is not recommended for children, people with diabetes, or pregnant women. Autophagy is still a subject of research and study, and there is currently no guarantee that it can prevent or cure cancer or slow the aging process.
