Kalinda Vazquez, a writer and producer on Star Trek: Discovery, is moving to Netflix.

Vazquez has signed a multi-year master deal with the streamer under which she will write and produce series and other projects. The first is a YA drama/thriller called Arbor Hall.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the great Netflix family,” Vazquez said. “It is a tremendous honor and pleasure to have a creative home in a place where originality is ignited and the original visions of creators are nurtured. I am very excited for what is to come.”

Alex Sapot, Netflix’s general manager, added: “Kalinda is a rare talent with a passion for storytelling and lots of original ideas and concepts. We are delighted and honored to support her vision and bring her exceptional voice, characters and story to the forefront. ”

Arbor Hall revolves around a Latinx teen whose best friend disappears from their exclusive boarding school campus. As she investigates, she uncovers a mystery at the school that’s much darker than money and perks.
