Disney + Hotstar Announces Mahabharata, Showtime, Koffee With Karan Season 8 at D23 Expo 2022
Disney+ Hotstar will bring three new Indian titles to its streaming platform – Showtime, Mahabharata and Koffee with Karan Season 8. The announcement was made by Disney+ Hotstar Head of Content Gaurav Banerjee on Wednesday. Seven at D23 Expo. The event is being held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, USA. These three new shows strengthen the platform’s partnership with Bollywood producer Karan Johar as well as form a new association with Madhu Mantena, Mythoversestudios and Allu Entertainment.
Banerjee joined an international content panel at D23 Expo to discuss “eclectic global content trends, highlighting Disney + Hotstar“. Here he announced that Showtime, Mahabharata and Koffee with Karan Season 8 will be coming to the streaming platform soon.
Speaking about the announcement, Johar expressed his excitement for the return of his talk show, which first aired almost 18 years ago, for another season. He revealed that Dharma Production will also bring a new sci-fi series titled Showtime. This will be a drama that attempts to expose the trade secrets of the Indian entertainment industry.
The Mahabharata, on the other hand, would be based on one of the greatest epics of ancient India. Through the battle for succession between the Pandava and Kaurava princes, it will speak to the ultimate conflict between “dhamma” and “adharma”. Currently, there are no details about the cast of this show.
Disney’s Expo D23 start up on Saturday and is scheduled to run until September 11. During this annual event, studios like Disney, Pixarand Marvel will introduce their future projects. Trailer for Little MermaidDisenchanted is led by Amy Adams, and Hocus Pocus 2 has been revealed. Marvel has also released the trailer for the tactical role-playing game Midnight sun and an untitled game that pits Captain America and Black Panther against each other.
