Disney PrincessNew trading card game fetched wild auction price defying the rules not even released yetwill launch later this summer, with Gen Con attendees and local game stores getting the first jailbreak on its products.
IGN Tuesday morning report that the launch for friendly local game store will be August 18 in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, and France, followed by a general retail launch on September 1. Gen Con arrivals in Indianapolis August 3 to 6. August will be able to buy “choose Disney Princess products,” said IGN.
The launch will include over 200 game cards across several products, including the regular starter deck and booster packs, plus special edition products.
According to IGN, that means Lorcana will start with:
- Three different Starter decks consisting of 60 cards. The decks are Amber and Amethyst; Emeralds and Rubies; and Steel and Sapphire. Each deck also has a booster pack of 12 random cards, one of which is a card and two of which are rare, super rare, or legendary.
- A gift set includes four standard booster packs, two oversized foil cards, two foil game cards, and game tokens.
- The “Illumineer’s Trove” collection includes eight booster packs, two deck boxes, a player guide, and a storage box.
Lorcana developer Ravensburger plans to launch four sets per year. Coming out this summer is called The First Chapter.
Disney Princess to be revealed for the first time at the end of August 2022. At the D23 conference in Anaheim a week later, Ravensburger released images of the first seven cards.
