“Do a pull-up like KD, or go for a trendy run like Kobe or MJ”

Joel Embiid has continued to develop as a player and is becoming one of the best big boys in NBA. He is currently the top MVP contender and has revealed that he has combined a lot of moves from different players to reach this level.

With the way the league has evolved, every player is a floorboarder, making room in the paint for the defenders to drive and end up at the belt. While Embiid continues to work in low position, he has incorporated other moves that can be performed anywhere on the floor.

More recently, he removed James Harden Step back in a game after many hands-on attempts. That, among many other things, is what The Beard has brought to Philadelphia 76ers.

On “The Draymond Green Show,” Embiid discussed a number of topics with the Golden State Warriors star, including his adaptability so far. When asked if he would expand his game further Hakeem OlajuwonBig Sixers replied:

“It’s open to everyone. I’m a willing learner and I want to learn everything. To give you an example, my first two years in the knockout stage, I really struggled. It’s tough because I’m just a card player. It’s easy to double me, and I can’t kick the ball and all that. So me and Drew Hanlen, my coach, us. said, “We have to find it.”

The five-time All-Star attendee talks about how he started watching videos to add something new to his game. After naming some of the greats and famous moves he decided to learn from, he continued:

“I have to be unpredictable. People can’t know that I’m going to post. I have to be able to receive the ball, push it during transitions, do a pull-up like KD (Kevin Durant), or go as far as Kobe (Bryant) or MJ (Michael Jordan). We just decided that we needed to expand our game.”

It’s no secret that Embiid has mirrored one of the most skilled big players in NBA history, Hakeem Olajuwon, but he’s starting to branch out. Although Embiid and Kevin Durant fought in the last two meetings, it is clear that Embiid has a lot of respect for KD.

Joel Embiid and Philadelphia 76ers Can Make NBA Finals For The First Time In 21 Years

The last time the Sixers reached the NBA Finals was in 2001, led by Allen Iverson. They lost Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers but have never made the semifinals since then.

The addition of Harden during the February 10 trading deadline has been a significant boost. The Sixers have a 6-2 record with Harden and are likely to continue to improve.

Given the team’s composition, it’s an NBA Finals appearance or bust for the Sixers. Harden was brought in to help with their championship campaign, which is why anything less would be considered a failed season.

Health is a big issue for Embiid, affecting the Sixers’ performance in recent years. Fortunately for Philadelphia, the league’s top scorer is in his best form this season, which should help things go in favor of the Sixers.
