Authorities chased a bus carrying Black lacrosse players to an away game for a traffic violation, but things quickly fell apart for the Delaware State team. HBCU students said when Georgia officers realized they were Black, they violated them in ways they couldn’t even imagine. TSR investigation’ Justin Carter Let’s take a closer look at this situation among Georgia State troopers since the volleyball team is now in action.
It began when Georgia deputies turned a regular traffic stop into a comprehensive search involving canines and trespassing baggage checks. One of the players even revealed that a soldier had opened a present given to her by her grandmother, a surprise she hadn’t even opened for herself. He is said to be currently investigating to find “drugs”.
Student-athlete Emily Campanelli was on the bus and agreed that something needed to change. She was one of the only white women on the team.
This will never happen to me. If that bus was full of girls who looked like
me, that will never happen. Like I’ve been pulled over before. And it was Oh, hi, how are you? Well, you’re good to go. Do you understand what I mean? So you can see the difference. Their badges need to be taken immediately. And there needs to be an investigation by the whole police agency.
