DESOTO COUNTY, Fla.- An elderly dog was found severely malnourished in a garbage bag in DeSoto County Monday afternoon and delegates are now looking for the person responsible.
Deputies were called around 3 p.m. when someone noticed a trash bag near NW Livingston Street and NW North Road in Arcadia, according to a report. DeSoto quận County Sheriff’s Office.
The caller told delegates they opened the bag after noticing its shape and discovered the dog inside was still alive but in rough shape.
“There is absolutely NO reason to treat animals this way; not when there are shelters and/or people willing to adopt a pretty little girl like this one. That is completely unacceptable! ” DCSO said in a Facebook post.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the dog’s owner or the identity of the person responsible to contact the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office.
