Don’t let this trailer fool you, Switch has no new OS

Well, we’ve seen some publishers get lucky with their marketing from time to time, but this one really does.

RedDeer Games revealed nOS: New Operating System, a new game for Switch that gently emulates the personal computer experience, albeit with cute visuals and a significantly simpler user experience. It will be released at some point later this month.

The problem, however, is that the marketing for this game is doing its best to try and fool you into thinking this is a real, genuine new operating system for the Switch. RedDeer’s press release even mixes up the name of the game, calling it “New OS” in one sentence and “Nintendo OS” in another.

You’ll no doubt notice that the latter is also the title of the YouTube video above; we can’t imagine it will be called that for a long time if Nintendo itself has anything to say about it. At the bottom right of the video, you’ll also see the Switch logo appear for the duration of the trailer, something that – at least to our knowledge – isn’t used in most of the reveal. third party for the switch.

It’s weird, because the game itself looks type Okay..?! It’s true that it’s not for everyone, but we imagine that maybe some people out there are interested in things like this; perhaps let their children get a feel for how a suitable PC operating system can work.

Either way, we’re pretty sure that misleading marketing isn’t really necessary.
