Dozens of people gathered around Shanquella Robinsonhers on Sunday, releasing hundreds of balloons as her mother tearfully watched, all while the family continued to seek justice and answers about her mysterious death.

The crowd chanted “Happy Birthday” together as family and friends were forced to celebrate Shanquella’s first birthday without her.

Shanquella died at the age of 25 on October 29 when her lifeless body was discovered at a villa in Mexico that she rented with some friends. She will turn 26 on Monday.

Meanwhile, next week will be two months since Salamondra buried her daughter at the Beatties Ford Memorial Garden in Huntersville. Mexican authorities said an arrest warrant had been issued for the incident, but police had yet to make any arrests as of Tuesday.

Her death occurred under suspicious circumstances, including a now-viral video showing a woman believed to be Robinson being beaten while naked by a fellow traveller with her, Shade room previous report.

“Everybody was arrested and made time in Mexico. People get extradited there and do their time there. That would be justice for us at this point,” said Quilla Long.

On Sunday, Salamondra Robinson said she still did not know if anyone had been arrested or if extradition had begun.

“We’re waiting to see and I know it’s going to happen,” she said. “In God’s time, it will happen. That’s all I’ve been waiting for.”

Last month, a protest was held in Charlotte, North Carolina, Shanquella’s hometown, where community members and family members of young women were killed together in the name of the 25-year-old girl. , Shade room report.
