Drew Peterson asks Will district judge to overturn his murder conviction – CBS Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) – Former police sergeant Bolingbrook Drew Peterson is going back to court, to try and sentence his murder.
In 2012, Peterson was found guilty of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio, and sentenced to 38 years in prison.

Peterson is also suspected, though never charged, in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson. Her body was never found, but she is presumed dead.
Now, Drew Peterson is arguing that prosecutors in his murder trial acted improperly, and claims his lead attorney was ineffective. All deny it.

A district judge will hear Peterson’s new petition on January 21.
