Dylan Dreyer Exits ‘Today’s Weekend’ After 9 Years as a Meteorologist – The Hollywood Reporter
NBC’s Today is weekend announced Saturday that meteorologist Dylan Dreyer, who has appeared on the show for nearly a decade, will be leaving the weekend show to focus on family.
Saturday’s episode was the last for Dreyer, who joined NBC News in 2012 and will go on to co-host the show. Today’s 3rd hour on weekdays with Al Roker, Sheinelle Jones and Craig Melvin. In a remote appearance, Dreyer watched footage of her memorable moments before bidding farewell to audiences over the weekend, and she emphasized her plans to enjoy a little more family time with her husband. “You know, I was just watching and looking back, I started in September 2012, and I got married in October, so in the span of time I was Today is weekend“I’m married and have three sons,” she shared. “It’s just unbelievable just looking back and thinking about the things I’ve been through, and not to mention everything I’ve done on the show.”
Dreyer continued, “I really don’t want to leave, but I don’t think I can do six days a week anymore. The boys definitely keep me busy.”
After the episode aired, Dreyer shared her appreciation for the show by tweeting that she was “so grateful they gave me the chance!” She added, “I’m going to miss Today Saturday but will continue to see you all on the 3rd Hour Monday through Friday!”
