EA wins scores for heavily criticized single-player games Tweet

Electronic Arts has come up with one of its latest tweets lacking a mark after it was fiercely criticized by everyone – including its own developers – on social media. On June 30, EA joined the social media trend of “They are 10 but …”, but the company’s message was not well received.

EA writes: “They are 10 but they only enjoy playing single player games. The tweet generated a lot of discussion and buzz, and even EA’s Vince Zampella mingled with the faceplam emoji. Developers Obsidian sub-posted on EAsaid, “One player is dope. Multiplayer is dope. Game is rad.”

Meanwhile, God of War producer Cory Barlog, speak“The One Player Game Forever.”

After receiving a flood of tweets, EA followed up with an ownership notice up to L. “Roast is well-deserved,” EA said. “We’re going to take this L because playing single-player games really makes them 11.”

In 2017, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said linear games have is gradually becoming popular in the current market. This is part of the reason why EA canceled Visceral’s Star Wars game. “As we continued to look at the game, it continued to look like a much more linear game [which] Jorgensen said at the time, people don’t like today as much as they did five or 10 years ago.

EA’s initial tweet led some to misuse it. EA’s biggest business today is online, online, multiplayer games, but the company still makes single-player games.

Some of its upcoming single-player game projects include Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, and a remake of Dead Space.
