Eagles QB Jalen Hurts MVP Chance Could Change Over The Long Term
As we move into the stretch of the regular NFL season, the conversation about MVPs has heated up and Eagles linebacker Jalen Hurts recognizes himself as one of them.
Hurts have the second best odds of winning the MVP, behind Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, per OddsChecker.
Hurts’ increase in MVP odds comes after his eye-catching performance last week against the Green Bay Packers in prime time. He became the first quarterback since 1950 to score more than 150 yards of charge, more than 150 yards of passes and multiple touches in the same game, according to NFL research.
Hurts also broke Michael Vick’s record for most yards charged by an Eagles quarterback in a game with 157.
Former NFL QB Robert Griffin III, who knows a thing or two about being a mobile QB, backed Hurts for the award.
“After what he just did with a 157-yard dash and helped them win, he’s the MVP. But the Top 3 is Jalen, Tua. [Tagovailoa]and Patrick Mahomes,” he told NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Even Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless, a notorious Cowboys fanboy, nodded to give Hurts the MVP.
