Early adolescent drug withdrawal may not affect quality of life
Professor Jake Najman from the University of Queensland, Australia said.
The proportion of 21-year-olds reporting a drug problem was 19% for marijuana, a very small percentage (0.7%) for amphetamines, and 3% for those using both drugs. Of these, problems persisted in their 30s with more than a third (36%) using marijuana and 60% of those using marijuana and amphetamines.
Research confirms that Further interventions needed to prevent continued drug use into adulthood are strongly associated with a lower likelihood of success in life.
