Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) officials said an 18-wheeler carrying eggs crashed into the post of a bridge at Malcom X. Boulevard. The impact tore through the trailer and scattered about 30,000 pounds of eggs onto the roadway.

The crash occurred at the I-45 interchange, closing the westbound lanes of I-30 near downtown. In addition to dealing with the eggs and possible fuel leaks, the TxDOT teams worked to check for any damage to the bridge. Traffic is being shut off at exit I-45.
