El Paso police investigate recording of abuse of 10-year-old child in bathroom
UPDATE (Feb. 21): El Paso police say the tampering recording occurred in the bathroom of the Golden Corral restaurant in the 7400 block of North Mesa in western El Paso.
Police believe this is an isolated incident, but warn parents that this can happen anywhere and at any time.
Police said the male prisoner saw a child alone and took this opportunity for lewd purposes.
EL PASO, Texas – Police say a 10-year-old child reported that someone was recording them on a cell phone from underneath a bathroom stall.
According to police, the incident happened on Saturday, February 20 at an undisclosed location.
Police say the child was alone in the stall at the time of the incident and reported the recording to its parents, who called 911.
Police advise parents to monitor their children at all times.
In a press release, police said, “There are people with bad intentions and will take advantage of unsupervised children.”
The Children’s Internet Crime Unit is investigating the incident.
