Elden Ring Invaders is destroying some PC save files
Player-to-player invasions are a staple of FromSoftware games – malicious players can invade your world in word games. the soul of the devil arrive Elden Ring, leading to tense, sometimes frustrating multiplayer moments. But PC players are losing more than their Rune inventory due to the new way of mining in Elden Ring. Somehow, the invaders in The Lands Between have found a way to corrupt the save files of the players they are infiltrating on PC, sending them into a never-ending cycle of death.
Of the few the clip we saw about the bug, the invaded player will respawn under the world, causing them to die. When they respawn, they will remain under the world and fall again, receiving the classic “You are dead” prompt over and over. Even restarting the game did not solve the problem.
⚠️Elden Ring PSA for PC players⚠️
There is an exploit going on on PC where hackers will corrupt your save file once you are compromised.
First, they will crash your game, and when you reopen your character will continuously fall to their death… pic.twitter.com/8et3bl8T1I

Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco has not commented on the matter at the time of writing, and it is unclear if retroactive repair is possible for players who have had their save files compromised. We have reached out to the publisher for comment and will update the post when Bandai Namco responds.
However, players have discovered a temporary fix for this problem, although it is a bit unreliable. Some have had success using Alt + F4 to kill the program before their character dies and then immediately hitting the map button when the game loads again. If done correctly and the player is lucky, they will safely teleport to the Location of Grace.
The easiest and only reliable solution is to have the player back up their saves regularly, although that won’t work out well for the player once they’re already stuck in the underworld. But for PC players who haven’t encountered this error, backing up savings is well worth the effort.
