Soul game has long inspired racers to find new, innovative ways to beat them as fast as possible. Elden Ring Is no exceptionand speed runners have been finding faster and faster ways to win. Streamer Distortion2 was one such runner, who posted to YouTube what appeared to be a less than 19 minute run of big, hard game.
This is any % run, meaning glitches and other tricks are fair play. The 18:57 run was implemented on the game’s old 1.02 patch that allowed for “escape force usage and the ‘pull-lock’ glitch,” Distortion2 wrote in YouTube video comments. (This includes, for example, “Volcano Warp” which allows the player to zip to Volcano Manor, a post-game location.)
Dist Distortion2 uses a combination of mining and sheer skill in their run. They jump off the cliff edge to their death, before moving on to other locations. Once there, they traverse ledges and shortcuts using the pro platform, as well as wade through the crowds to loot specific items and get upgrades. Before this new record, it took runners 15 hours of trying and “countless unsuccessful runs,” Distortion2 wrote in the comments, to finally reach the record.
Since the game was released, runners have found new ways to beat the game in record time. Just two weeks ago, Distortion2 posted a running speed less than 30 minutes. The game has only been out for a little over a month – many more speed types are definitely not out yet.
