Elden Ring’s Free Colosseum Update Adds Multiplayer This Week

Out of nowhere, Bandai Namco and From Software announced that multiplayer is coming Elen’s ringand it’s launching this week in a free update.

The Colosseum update, launching on December 7, invites players to the arenas of Limgrave, Leyndell, and Caelid, where they can fight in 1v1 duels, as one part of the team or in free-for-all matches. All of this comes to Elden Ring in update 1.08, but the full patch notes are yet to be published.

From Software doesn’t share any specifics on how the multiplayer battles in Elden Ring work, but you can check out the announcement trailer above for a glimpse.

Elden Ring is the best-selling game of 2022 in the US so far, and it is is expected to outsell Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and end the year as the best-selling title in the US. According to the latest statistics of Bandai Namco, Elden Ring has sold 17.5 million copies, ie more than the previous two games combined.

The game was not only a commercial success, but also a major victory. it’s up for Game of the Year at this week’s Game Awardswhere it is also nominated for six other awards, including Best Game Direction and Best Narration.
