Elon Musk challenges Vladimir Putin to single combat
News about Ukraine and Russia shows what is happening to those trying to flee the country. Some have voiced criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin for his antics with such unrest. Today, Elon Musk went mainstream after he posted on Twitter calling out Vladimir Putin’s name. According to the NY Post, the tweet read: “I challenge Vladimir Putin to a single battle. Shares are Ukraine. ”
Although the message is difficult to read because it is not in English, let me break it down. “Vladimir Putin” and “Ukraine” are written with the Cyrillic letters used in Russian and Ukrainian languages. He concluded his messages by asking Putin, “Do you agree with this war?” Dmitry Rogozin, the head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, did not feel Elon’s message and clapped his hands in response in a tweet of his own. “You, little demon, are still young.”
Rogozin added: “Competition with me is weak; it would just be a waste of time. Get over my brother first.” Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, also responded to Elon on tweet, “I’m sure @elonmusk can take Putin to Jupiter.” He made an additional tweet showing a meme with Putin inside a spaceship with the words, “Send Putin to Jupiter.” The meme is linked to a website where donations have been accepted to support Ukraine’s defense efforts.
In addition to Elon calling Putin, the headlines continue to show dominance amid the ongoing problems. As we reported yesterday, multiple reports confirm, award-winning journalist Brent Renaud has died after being killed by Russian forces in the Ukrainian city of Irpin. Another American journalist, Juan Arredondo, was shot and wounded. However, he is stable. He details what happened before Brent died. Our thoughts are with Brent’s loved ones at this time. Roommates, we will keep you updated.
