Elon Musk is ready to let these ‘special’ Twitter employees work remotely

Elon Musk has suffered a lot of backlash about ultimatum to Tesla workers above work remotely which dictates that they work a minimum of 40 hours per week from any of the company’s main offices or find some other job. Now, Tesla and SpaceX The CEO turned his attention to Twitter employees for the same reason. While it seems Musk is still vehemently opposed to working from home, he’s still willing to give the privilege of working from home to some ‘special’ employees at Twitter because working at Twitter is not the same as working. at Tesla.
Elon Musk said: “Tesla makes cars, and you can’t build cars remotely.”
So what expertise does an employee at Twitter need to have in order to be exempt from the new rules the tech mogul wants to impose and from being considered for eventual dismissal? They must be “special”.
“If someone can only work remotely and they’re exceptional, it doesn’t make sense to fire them,” Musk said in a virtual town hall with Twitter employees, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
“There’s a hit that happens from afar, because it reduces the esprit de corps,” Musk also added in town hall, according to CNN. “Even when someone is working remotely, sometimes they have to go in for them to recognize their co-workers… Prejudice for me might be face-to-face work, but if someone is special then work remotely maybe okay. ”
A select few may be allowed to work remotely, but whether the move is right for employees at Twitter remains to be seen. The acquisition has yet to be made.
