Entertainment news: Kate Bosworth’s birthday letter
Kate Bosworth shared a letter she wrote to herself for her 40th birthday in which she advocates embracing change.
“Change scares you. You wish you could see the experience of change through the lens of adventure, but it’s hard on you,” she wrote. “Order, structure, planning and consistency feel more secure. It’s still the same, but now you understand that change is a fundamental law of the universe.”
Bosworth continued, “The seasons change, the stars explode, the earth moves. Change is how you are made and change is how you will continue to grow.”
The actress also reminded herself that the fear she has is often not based on facts, writing: “You’re interested in testing the idea of fear. Usually, fear is a story – a story. the story you tell yourself – and those thoughts that rarely happen. hold many truths.”
And finally, she writes, after you face your fear, “the light will illuminate the darkness.”
“Notice that the more you illuminate the fear – turn it upside down, observe it. Sit with it and, ultimately, become aware of it. You have found, like many aspects of life, a shining light. darkness,” she wrote.
She also doesn’t seem to mind important birthdays, saying, “Some people say 40 is the new 20, but you really hope not. You hope 40 feels like 40. Yeah. It took decades to get to this position.”
Bosworth’s boyfriend, Justin Long, commented on the post, writing: “This is even more beautiful and inspiring than I know. I can’t wait to read your book… and be walk into the next room and tell you how much I love you and how grateful I am to know you.”
Long added: “To myself when I was young, I would say, ‘keep dreaming about her because one day you will have a chance to love her’.”
