Eric Clapton and Elvis Presley guitars for sale

More than 900 items from some of the world’s biggest music stars including Eric Clapton, Elvis Presley, Madonna and Michael Jackson will be auctioned off in New York this week.

The top lot is an acoustic guitar that Clapton owned and played on stage during a 1970 concert in London.

Martin Nolan, chief executive officer of Julien’s Auctions, said the Martin guitar is expected to fetch between $300,000 and $500,000. Guitar playing and other merchandise will take place Friday and Saturday at Hard Rock Cafe in New York and online.

A guitar played by Presley and given to Norman Taurog, who has directed many of his films, can fetch up to $90,000. The auction also included a suit Madonna wore in the movie “Evita” which was valued at up to 12,000 USD.

Amy Winehouse and Katy Perry dresses are also in high demand.

Some items by rock band Nirvana and frontman Kurt Cobain are also included in the sale.

“We have a childhood photo of Kurt Cobain, it’s very rare that you see a picture of Kurt Cobain so young, tickets to concerts. Anything from Kurt Cobain is highly sought-after,” Nolan said. .
