Etobicoke Elementary School Closes After COVID Outbreak Is Declared – Toronto
The Toronto Department of Public Health said it had closed a school on the west end of the city due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The local public health unit said students and staff at the École élémentaire Micheline-Saint-Cyr on Forty First Street, near Lake Shore Boulevard West, south of Etobicoke will close for in-person learning starting Wednesday .
“We are recommending school-wide layoffs as a precautionary measure to protect staff, students, and the community from further transmission of COVID-19 on campus,” Toronto Public Health said.

Toronto’s Department of Public Health said it has notified close contacts and asked them to stay home, monitor for symptoms and get tested for the virus.
A return date has not been announced, but TPH said it will work with the school to determine when face-to-face learning can resume.
Additionally, TPH said an outbreak of COVID-19 has also been announced at Danilack Middle School in North York and Military Trails Public School in Scarborough. However, both schools
