Eugenio Suárez homers in 11th as Mariners top Jays

SEATTLE (AP) – It took more than 1,000 career games, but Eugenio Suárez finally got the thrill of hitting a game-ending home match.

So how did it feel?

“I just enjoy the game and like I always say, I always keep my energy. Even if I don’t do something, I just try to keep my energy and enjoy this game. This game is fun,” said Suárez.

Suárez beat Sergio Romo three times in the 11th round, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-2 on Friday night to their sixth straight win of the season.

Suárez didn’t miss Romo’s 2-1 slip (0-1) and shot from the left flank. It was his 15th home game of the season and improved Seattle to 43-42, the first time the Mariners went above the .500 since they were 12-11 on May 2.

Romo threw only four throws during his brief outing. The veteran was appointed by Seattle late last month before signing with the Blue Jays.

Former Toronto player Ryan Borucki (1-0) won, scoring in the 10th and 11th innings without allowing a run. Borucki took the 10th lead thanks to Matt Chapman wrapped up in a double play. In the 11th round, Chapman finished third with a net, but Borucki beat Cavan Biggio and was sent flying by George Springer.

Seattle tried to win it for the 10th time on JP Crawford’s singles driveway to the left side of the field. Third team coach Manny Acta decided strongly to send Abraham Toro from second, but Lordes Gurriel Jr’s. hit the target and Toro was easily disqualified.

Dylan Moore had an RBI double in the second half, and Crawford added an RBI double in the third half scoring Julio Rodríguez from first base. Rodríguez was almost ready to start the game, but his header hit the top of the wall in the midfield and he was thrown out after tripping and falling between second and third. .

Toronto starter Ross Stripling allows for two runs and seven hits in five innings.

Gurriel had an RBI single in the second inning and Vladimir Guerrero Jr doubled and scored on Teoscar Hernández’s RBI single in the fifth inning.
