(Exclusive) Dancers at the Afro Country Music Festival Complain they’ve been assaulted, malnourished and various other offenses #TSRInvestigates

Another music festival is happening in Fyre— oops, we mean under fire! Afro Nation dancers say they have been forced to face discomfort while working at the popular festival. The women say they fear for their safety, expect to stay in insect-infested apartments, receive inadequate food and make assault allegations. Chile, these dancers are said to have made it through.

But the question remains, why? Shade room reporter Justin Carter investigated the situation. He spoke privately with the dancers, including the lead choreographer for Afro Nation in Puerto Rico, CeCe Tor.

CeCe alleges the bad experience began at the airport, where the group did not provide car service to their hotel, where the 11 dancers stayed. Unfortunately, the hotel – powered by a company affiliated with the event called Live Live Logistics – was infested with bugs when they got there. She said the area “smells like trash”, citing evidence of the filth around the hotel.

I got a text from them saying we won’t take the bus from the airport as promised.

Things were supposed to get worse when carnival activities began to be cancelled – which they allegedly did not give the dancers enough notice. On the first day, more than 7 artists, including Burner Boy, Koffee and Beanie Man, withdrew from the festival on the same day, angering fans.

Not only did the festival upset the fans, but the dancers, who were only fed one meal a day, also found it boring. They accused the security of assaulting them for trying to make their performance come to the fore. The workers are now seeking compensation for their allegedly horrible experience.
