How can one deal with the pressure of preparing for an interview?
You feel less pressure when you are prepared and more confident. That’s the correlation. The more prepared you are, the better you will perform in the interview. You also need to know about the company, so research is key to a successful interview. I cannot stress enough the importance of company research. Next, always smile when entering the interview. Greet your interviewers and always show a positive attitude. Think of it as a conversion rather than an interrogation. Also, value and treat yourself better because that way you’ll feel more confident and less stressed.
How can a person be really confident when giving an answer in an interview?
If you are not sure about the question at first, repeat the question while slowly analyzing it. This gives you time to think. Pausing will also help you. However, do not pause too much. You also need to look at the interviewer’s facial expressions to see if you’re doing something wrong. Here are ways you can really make your answer concrete and to the point.
What are some winning answers that can help people find jobs?
I believe a winning answer is a combination of two factors: your skill and strength and then you back it up with your experience and a success story. If someone asks you – tell me about yourself, then simply tell the interviewer about your relevant skills and strengths, then back it up with a success story and then finish with you applying your skills in a particular situation. That would be a great winning formula.
Can you tell us some tips for managing an excellent CV?
Your CV is not a document of what you have done. It is a document of what you have achieved and what you have, the difference you have made. One of the most important things about making a CV is to say ‘you are responsible for this…’—this is not a job description. You must make your CV short and precise. Bring something new to the table. The first half of the first page of your CV is the most important part. If you can match your greatest achievements and career highlights, your CV could be a hit. No one likes reading a long CV.
What are some things you should and shouldn’t do after an interview?
After an interview, when you thank them, look for clues that they’re positive or negative about it. If there’s a vibe between the two, then you’re likely to get in on the business. But if not, then it will fail. After the interview, always send a thank you note to your interviewer within 24 hours of the interview. But don’t follow up too much after that. That may be completely unnecessary. It really annoys hiring managers!
Is it easy to change careers? How can one move their career from customer service to IT?
There are no shortcuts and no easy paths. You have to focus on two things, upskilling yourself and networking. The more you network and post about your skills on LinkedIn and other sites, the more likely you are to land a job. You can go to a lot of events where you can show your CV to relevant people. One extraordinary attack I experienced was reaching out to one person every day for 365 days. If you can scroll through Instagram during a certain time of day, you also have time to reply to people’s messages on LinkedIn.
How can you sell yourself as a fresh graduate?
When you’re fresh out of college, they’re looking for a few things: energy, enthusiasm, projects, self-motivation, etc. You can prove it by showing them how active you are. on LinkedIn and in the industry you want to be in. Second, when you want to stand out in an interview, state your achievements and qualifications as a student. Tell them about your internship experience and translate that into work expenses.
What color can people choose to wear to an interview?
I would say it depends on the industry you are interviewing for. Room reading is really important. So if you’re gearing up for a tech startup, you don’t want to wear a vest and tie, a nice shirt and casual jeans will suit you better instead. If you are doing banking, dark colors like navy blue would be a good choice. Avoid black clothes because it is too uniform with one color. Blue is a very good color because it represents confidence, strength, and trustworthiness. If you’re working in the creative or marketing industry, you can wear whatever you like. It all depends on the culture of the industry you’ll be interviewing for.
