(Exclusive video) Kyla Pratt talks about maintaining privacy, the celebrity roles she didn’t get & parenting
Many of us grew up with Kyla Pratt on television screens. With her infectious laugh and much-loved girl, the Los Angeles-born talent is someone we will always hold in our hearts. From ‘Dr. Dolittle,’ ‘One on One’, and of course, ‘The Proud Family’, she contributed so much to our culture and childhood.
In an exclusive interview with The Shade Room, the 36-year-old dropped by and took us into her business for a bit. The mother-of-two was so interested in a remarkable role that she auditioned but failed. Pratt also discusses how she can maintain her privacy in a world full of screenshots and videos.
Don’t let people interfere in Kyla Pratt’s business:
I feel like a lot of the things people put out there, and I’m very particular about the different things going on in my private life.
The 36-year-old went on to say:
I feel like a lot of people think they can have an opinion on the stuff you’re going on, and I really don’t care. I am very protective of the people I love and I feel that is the best way to keep that.
Kyla Pratt didn’t get the famous role
Pratt also went on to say that she auditioned for ‘Eve’s Bayou’ when she was young, but “the right person got the part”, as Jurnee Smollett ended up getting the role of Eve Batiste.
Speaking upon receiving her flowers, the voice behind Penny’s character in ‘The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder’, said that she appreciates love and recognition. However, that’s not the main reason she’s in the industry. The California native “loves” what she does for a living.
Impact of ‘The Proud Family’
‘The Proud Family” impact on her family allows her to better communicate with the two children she shares with celebrity tattoo artist, Danny Kirkpatrick Jr.
Watching it with my kids allows us to talk about things we wouldn’t normally talk about.
