F1 champion Red Bull launches 2023 car, celebrates Ford partnership
Formula One World Champion Red Bull debuted the season in the United States on Friday with a series of fireworks in front of a Manhattan crowd with only the auditorium reveling as fans defied the frigid cold outside.
“It’s a great feeling, you know, it sounds good, but you want a car suit your driving style and you can be confident and able to get the most out of it. That’s very important,” said Red Bull Racing driver Checo (Sergio) Perez.
The event also serves as the launch of a new partnership with Ford Motor Companywill partner with Red Bull Powertrains, the company founded to build engines for Red Bull, to demonstrate confidence in the sport’s popularity in the United States.
Ford will return to Formula 1 with the defending champions in 2026 after a more than 20-year absence.
Formula One will have a new power unit from 2026 using 100% sustainable fuel and a larger electrical component.
Red Bull is currently using a turbo V6 mixture engine made by ex-partner Honda’s motobike IN Japan and last year stopped negotiating with porsche.

Las Vegas will join Austin and Miami in becoming the third race in the United States in the 2023 calendar as F1 seek to penetrate deeper into the lucrative market.
