Formula One fans can get deeper into the role of an F1 team captain this summer when Frontier Developments launches F1 Manager 2022A management simulation that takes the popular white racing series. F1 Manager 2022 will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. It will also be available on Windows PC, via both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
F1 Manager 2022 licensed by Formula 1 and the Formula 2 and Formula 3 development chains. As captain, the player must promote, demote, hire and/or fire staff; join the happenings on the car week after week; balance the budget and needs of superstar drivers; and make in-race decisions regarding tyres, pit strategy and other team orders.
As a management simulation, F1 Manager 2022 will be a more detailed career class than the hugely popular My Team mode that Codemasters introduced two years ago with F1 2020. The big difference, of course, is that it won’t include the hands-on racing gameplay seen in each event. I can’t tell from the video above and the game announcement bulletin doesn’t volunteer more details, but if it allowed full customization – livery design, sponsorships, team names and the like – I imagine F1 Manager 2022 will cater to the feel of moguldom indirectly animating a lot of people playing sports career modes.
