Facebook users report seeing ‘random’ posts for celebrities in their feed | Science & Technology News

Facebook users around the world have reported problems with their homepage when trying to browse the app.

The issues are being highlighted on other social media platforms like Twitter, where people are rushing to post about seeing “random” people posting on celebrity pages.

DownDetector, a website where people can log issues with different platforms, started receiving crash reports after 6am.

“My feed is spammed with random people posting on celebrity sites?” said one Twitter user.

Another wrote: “Hey @facebook, how are you?”

Reports state that if someone has posted to a celebrity’s page, other people who follow that famous individual will see the post appear in their news feed.

Such posts to popular sites are usually filtered out by an algorithm.

The issue appears to be affecting users globally, with outages reported in the UK, Spain, Canada, Mexico, Italy, France, US, Poland and Australia.

People have tried to make the glitch work in their favor by trying to make their hobby or project public.

Other users have been encouraging people to post weird photos on celebrity sites, leading to a lot of “weird” content.
