Factorio is raising prices by $5 “to account for inflation”
It’s no secret that things are getting more and more expensive — and games have been hit hard like groceries, rent, and medicine, with base prices for new AAA releases at regular intervals. rises to (and sometimes surpasses) the $100 mark.
But it looks like those price spikes are also affecting older games, as the developers behind the game manage the strategy. factor today announced their game price increase, the game has been released early since 2016.
The game will now sell for $35, a $5 increase from its previous price, presumably across all platforms (though this is unconfirmed):

Many commenters were unhappy about this increase, pointing out that the game has never been discounted, as the developers have vowed never to lower the price. This is an excerpt from their blog post announcing price increase in 2018causes the game to go from $20 to $30:
“As you may know, we have a strict no-sales policy. The game will not be sold on Steam or any other platform.”
