Fairview teacher arrested on child sex charges at Maury Co. | Williamson County
FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) – A first-grade teacher at Fairview Elementary School is on unpaid leave after being arrested in Maury County for repeated aggravated sexual abuse and child rape, Williamson County Schools has confirmed.
The school system sent a letter to families and staff Monday night announcing that Jonathan Ullrich had been arrested in Maury County.
Ullrich, 50, of Culleoka, has been suspended from Williamson County Schools without pay, according to a notice to families.
“The charges against Mr. Ullrich in Maury County are appalling. The district has no indication that any charges outside of Maury County are related to his work in WCS,” Williamson County Schools said in a statement. An announcement. “However, families who may have information to share with local law enforcement are encouraged to contact the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
“If parents need assistance talking to their child, counselors are available to guide them through the process and they should call the school office. If a child needs support at school, parents should call the school office. You should contact your child’s teacher.”
School Principal Dr. Tracy Bullard will be speaking directly with the families of first graders about classroom activities for the remainder of the term.
Ullrich was arrested Monday after the charges were returned by the Maury County Grand jury. County Attorney General Brent Cooper said Ullrich has been charged with nine counts of aggravated sexual abuse, particularly aggravated sexual exploitation of a child, eight counts of rape, incest and eight counts child rape. He is being held on $200,000 in bonds. Cooper said there were two minor victims.
