“Fall’s Hottest New Show” – The Hollywood Reporter

Netflix launched a Seinfeld trailer on Friday.

The streamer launched a two-minute “official trailer” of the long-lasting collection, which can premiere on the service Oct. 1.

Within the trailer, Netflix cheekily calls Seinfeld “this fall’s hottest new present” and boasts of its “180-episode premiere” — saying the quiet half out loud by suggesting that exhibits that used to air on different platforms don’t actually exist till they’re on Netflix.

After all, Seinfeld aired on NBC from 1989 to 1998 for 9 seasons and gained 10 primetime Emmy awards, and has been an everyday secure in syndication ever since.

Netflix paid greater than $500 million for the rights to stream the collection after shedding binge-able broadcast sitcom staples The Workplace and Buddies.

Seinfeld stars comic Jerry Seinfeld as a fictionalized model of himself and targeted on his private life with three of his associates — George Costanza (Jason Alexander), ex-girlfriend Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and neighbor Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards).
