Family runs to Lurie Children’s Hospital for help after being robbed in Streeterville – CBS Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) – Two parents of children ran to Lurie Children’s Hospital for help late Wednesday after being broken into in Streeterville.
CBS 2’s Jermont Terry spoke to the family Wednesday night. The couple were extremely scared after what they went through.

The couple’s car was driving down St. Clair Street was close to Superior Street, but they eventually ran for safety and called the police at Lurie Children’s Hospital down the street.
Video shows the mother clinging to her baby as they describe what happened to police in the lobby of the hospital, 225 E. Chicago Ave.
It is unclear whether the couple and the child visited Lurie or just used the hospital as a safe place after the robbery.
But Chicago Police said the couple’s man, 22, was standing next to his car at 5:43 p.m. when the three men confronted him. One of the men hands over a gun and asks for a vehicle.

The father gave up the car and the keys, and the two thieves got into the car.
CBS 2’s Terry spoke briefly to the pair as they stepped outside. They were too uncomfortable talking in front of the camera.
They said they were fine physically. We were told that the child was not in the car during the robbery.
No one was detained as of late Wednesday. We know there are a lot of security cameras in the area and the Chicago Police looked into the surveillance Wednesday night.
