Confession: I have a love-hate relationship with fashion trends. Don’t get me wrong — nothing can compare to the feeling of sitting in fashion Week, waiting with gasping for breath as a model walks down the runway, clothes bouncing, and witnesses an IRL designer’s artwork. That moment was magical — it was a 10/10 lived experience.
But I found that once the new season arrived, I was filled with existential dread. I know as an editor, I suppose to be able to choose my favorite spring trends 2022 Adoption, where to shop and what to shop for, but it’s like choosing your favorite child. Who am I to say investing in Loewe’s impressive heels will make me happier than buying a pair ballet apartment? How should I determine 2022 aesthetic style? And why can’t someone Venmo give me the money to buy all of Fendi’s S/S 22 collection? In fact, even as editors, sometimes we need help deciding Trend worth buying.
The easiest way I can tell which trends are worth my time is to compare the top trends of a few seasons and then cross-check it with products from some of my favorite brands. I (like Who’s Wearing What Collection?). Once you know which trends are around for a long time, it’s easy to tell which ones are worth ignoring — which is exactly what I did for this story (and for my own personal gain). I).
