According to FBI records, Poursafi told a person, actually an FBI informant, that he wanted Bolton purged or removed.

He provided the person with the address of Bolton’s office, the affidavit was revealed.

The Justice Department said it was an alleged retaliation for a US air strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani at Baghdad airport in 2020.

“This is not an idle threat,” said US Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen.
