Felix Auger-Aliassime reaches the semi-finals of Swiss Indoors

BASEL, Switzerland –

Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime beat Alexander Bublik 6-2, 6-3 on Friday to reach the semi-finals of the Swiss Indoors tennis tournament.

The 22-year-old Montrealer, the tournament’s third seed, broke the Kazakh serve in the first set of the match and easily won the opening set.

Bublik, ranked 38th in the world, was better able to fight in the second set, but ended up losing in a match that lasted only an hour and 11 minutes.

Auger-Aliassime has now won 11 matches in a row. He entered the Swiss event after consecutive victories at tournaments in Florence and Antwerp.

The Canadian shot 10 aces and didn’t give Bublik a break point. Auger-Aliassime beat 28 winners with just four unforced errors.

Auger-Aliassime will next play Carlos Alcaraz or Pablo Carreno Busta in Saturday’s semi-final
