Film Producers Bob Yari, Marvin Peart Launch WonderHill Studios – The Hollywood Reporter

Veteran film sponsors and producers Bob Yari and Marvin Peart have teamed up to launch WonderHill Studios as co-founders and co-CEOs.

With the announcement of the Cannes Film Festival timings, the film and television production and distribution company will seek a niche in the independent theater space by producing film and television content, and pursue domestic film distribution, foreign acquisition and sale.

“WonderHill Studios aims to fill an important gap in the theatrical and television spaces, while focusing on diversity in film and television before and after the camera. We are dedicated to building a diverse C-suite and delivering quality independent films to the theatrical market,” Yari said in a statement Wednesday.

Yari won the 2006 Best Picture Oscar for Accident, but soon got mired in legal troubles between battles with creditors and litigation with industry innovators. His other film credits include Illusionist, Possessive And Champion Resurrection, at the same time directing Dad: Hemingway in Cuba.

Yari and War with Grandpa producer Peart is also part of David Glasser’s 101 Studios, which produces gold stone for Supreme+. Peart credits also include Life on the line And Escape from Planet Earth.

“With the creative and experienced team we are building, we are optimistic and excited about the future of this company, focused on bringing fresh and groundbreaking television to viewers, as well as bringing audiences of all ages and generations back to theaters,” Peart added in his own statement.
