Leeming testified he was taking care of the woman when she fell down some stairs, however she appeared to be OK. He stated she was limp and unresponsive when he checked on her hours later.

Leeming stated he snapped and hit Lovett twice within the head with a hammer when she accused him of doing one thing to her daughter.
