Finals – 12 things I wish I knew before the game
Finals is a game where multiple teams compete in highly destructive environments to capture and deposit cash. It is done in the style of a game show with teams of three deposit points attacking and defending. There’s a lot to learn about the game, and in this video we cover all of the things that are helpful to know from the start. That includes knowing the key differences between the Light, Medium, and Heavy classes and how to use their equipment and capabilities creatively.
Our list of tips will help you focus on some starting skills like moving and changing some settings to make the game easier on the eyes. We’ll cover things you can pick up in the environment, such as goo boxes and explosive flasks, as well as things you can pick up by surprise, such as team death figurines Friend. We will cover different and less obvious decision points and stages in a match, such as when to attack and when to defend. That means laying out why attacking can be so risky at times, with severe penalties if your team is wiped out. We’ll then cover how to get creative around protecting the Drawdown, such as covering the area with slime, destroying stairs, and setting bouncing traps. We’ll look at possible random variations in matches like low gravity and meteor storms. Finally, we’ll dive into what you should know about starting classes and how best to use weapons, equipment, and their abilities. That means getting creative with zippers, bouncing pads, sledgehammers, and grappling hooks.
The Finals is a free-to-play game from Embark Studios that is currently in closed beta on PC. It runs on Unreal Engine 4 and has a highly destructible environment. It is listed as coming to Steam soon, with plans to come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S at a future date.
