Fire can destroy up to 60 guitars at the Avett Brothers’ home – The Hollywood Reporter

A fire has destroyed 60 guitars and 100 paintings at Jim Avett’s home in North Carolina. He is the father of Scott and Seth Avett of the band Avett Brothers.

The Charlotte Observer reported that the fire broke out Friday in the city of Concord.

Jim Avett posted on Facebook: “The fire started in a golf cart. “Half the house is completely beyond repair.”

Officials say firefighters who arrived saw “a large fire coming from the garage” and entered the home to prevent the fire from spreading. No one was injured, although Jim Avett said a cat was missing.

The Avett Brothers, a three-time Grammy Award nominee, is based in North Carolina and has a nationwide fan base. Jim Avett said on Facebook that the fire “wasn’t a knock-out punch”.

“We have the strength, attitude, belief and ability to move forward,” he wrote. “And we will!”
